I have a new one from last night.
Tried putting together a group for Ring of Fire.
Got a team setup, went in, got as far as the ettins then got overwhlemed and died. No biggie. Needed to vary up player classes better anyway.
Second time in, everything seemed fine up until the very first hill.
The second ranger kept using Quickening Zephyer.
I wasnt paying attention to it, at first, but one monk pointed out not to use it since it made skills cost more energy.
Made a note asking player not to use it.
Just before the first Tower seal, player used QZ again. The monk that complained about it left, and another player complained that the monk that left was a pain.
I'm left there standing, wondering at the self centeredness of some people. Both monks were doing a great job, but due to one persons percived value of skill that hurt us more than helped we kept getting out butts kicked every few feet. Mainly due to the fact that we kept running out of energy...and that the ranger wanted to use traps on the barbed traps on the jades.

Heres the newest. After several failed attempts to do the tombs thing we got a decent group. Got all the way to the last map and we were discussing stratagy...one of the guys runs up aggros three groups of enemies getting us all killed and then says...."so tired". We were all very pissed...I mean if your tired fine leave the game but don't ruin the quest for all of us. Still havent had a sucessful run :0( we keep getting close but...never fully able to finish the last room. Oh well. time to keep trying.

I have a jerk story with a twist. We (Me, Savio, Carinae, Las, and some others) were doing a Tombs run and were suiciding due to a bad start, and I took off my armor to die quicker, except that I accidentally dropped my black 15k Major Vigor Gladiators laggings on the ground, needless to say we only noticed it after everyone was dead and the ''Return to Outpost'' button was at the top of the screen. At least some niced people helped me out .
(BTW, I consider myself the jerk ;( )

^^ man that's awful ... accidentally did the same sort-of thing with my stormbow once, while farming ettins (I like to take a random junk item and toss it on the ground where I set the traps) and accidentally tossed out my stormie instead of the junk item ... I died and was half a second away from mapping back to beetletun when I had a second thought to look at what was on the ground ... glad I walked all the way back to where I was from the Res shrine.

Biggest "jerk" I ever had verbally attacked me because of comments here on the board. There was a discussion about having "religous" guilds in game and this great individual was upset because I'm a Christian. So I log in and within 2 minutes he begins flaming me worse than I've ever seen. Profanity, name calling, and general bashing abounded. I politely said "thank you" and then blocked him. Took a screen shot and sent it to Anet
He's still the only person on my blocked list!

The biggest jerk I've encountered so far was a monk in Iron Mines. You probably all know that since the big update on january 19th, a bug is keeping players from completing the mission.
Me: Does anyone know why the mission cannot be completed?
Jerk: Ya. We're working on it.
Me: ??
Jerk: 15 minutes
Me: Oh, are you from ANet?
Jerk: No, but I can count.
Then I got a green message announcing that a new build was available. So I logged out and restarted, hoping that the bug had been squashed. Back at Iron Mines I see this monk again. This time around it's different.
Player x: The mission is bugged. You can't complete it. What's wrong?
Jerk: You won't make it. I will not allow it.
Player x: What?
Jerk: I will not allow you to complete mission.
Player y: Sayz who?
Jerk: I can ban u
Me: I've seen you this morning. Are you from ANet?
Jerk: stfu you won't make the mission.
Me: Are you from ANet? I want you to tell me.
Jerk: stfu.
Player z: Hey the mission can't be done! What's going on?
Jerk: As long as I'm here no one can do miss
Player x: You know, I can report you if you impersonate an ANet employee.
Jerk: So? You're reporting me to me.
Player x: You can't ban unless you're from ANet
Jerk: I can ban U allright.
Me: Oh, maybe you're some big time hacker who screwed up mission.
Jerk: there ya go
Player x: I took screens and I'm reporting you
Jerk: therez a smart one
But it does not end there...
Saturday I log on and go to Iron Mines, once again. Seems the mission is still bugged so I get into a group running to Thunderhead. At Thunderhead, I quickly get into a group without realizing that the jerk is right there in the group. I say to myself, ok, just go with the mission and don't pay attention. Just do your job.
The mission starts good and proceeds well right until we get to the city. Jerk is starting to take jabs at everyone in the team, claiming they're idiots and noobs. When we get to the palissade, our eles starts nuking the towers. But jerk has the king with him and goes right next to a spot where the king takes damage.
Me: Whoever has the king get back. He's taking damage.
Jerk: stfu n00b
Me: You're calling me noob?
Jerk: Yeah n00b
Me: Oh, I know you. You're the guy who claimed to be from ANet, who said you could ban people and then that you were a hacker who messed the Iron Mines mission.
Jerk: n00b and your mother dresses you funny.
Me: Sorry folks but have fun! (I mapped back at Thunderhead, leaving the team. and the king was almost dead).
Back at Thunderhead I met some people from that team a couple of minutes later, five of which climbed into my new team. They also mapped back not because the mission was doomed but because of jerk who kept on his little comedy after I was gone.
Me: So, how did you do?
Player: Not good. Was that monk a retard or what?
Player2: Never seen such a jerk
Player3: True that. Probably a 12 year old or something.
Player4: I'm tired of doing this mission over and over because of people like him.
So I took my team for the mission and completed it successfuly. Of course, jerk has been reported by other people (who sent me private messages) and happily put him on ignore.

I've been lucky, haven't encountered worse jerks than all the leavers in Tyria.
On the other hand I know a guy (in real life) who has decieved people by not paying for runs and various items.

Anyway the biggest jerk I met was this Mo/W st Riverside Province. Ok, we started the mission and he just runs into the first mob and dies. After we killed the monk wasn't talking and the rest my team and me thought ok, maybe he's used to soloing and just underestimated the mob, so we ressed him. 30 seconds later, he runs into a other mob and dies. After theat we decided not to res him and he just stays there and doesn't leave the game for the whole mission. I was thinking to myself, what an a-hole, he's just going to sit there and do nothing while we finish the mission. It's times like that where i wish they a system were the team could vote off a player.

Not really a jerk, just rude in my opinion.
Joined a PUG in the new tombs. I was an Echo SS at the time. Got on to their Teamspeak as well. Then their leader asks me if I had Blood Ritual. Since I never brought it with my SS build, I replied no. He then says on Teamspeak:
"Okay, I'm going to kick this noob Necro. He doesn't have BR. BR is like, the most common spell for Necros and he doesn't have it."
Then I get kicked. If having 2 million EXP PvEing makes me a 'noob', I don't know what makes you 'l33t'.
Seriously, he could have just asked me to bring it. Oh well, maybe I'm just being too sensitive about these things.

Any one of the following:
>People who call you a 'runnEr n00b' when you kite them..it's their fault they don't bring speed boosts and snares.
>People who claim they'd 'pwN ur azz in A 1v1 du3l'
>Anyone who uses the terms 'n00b' and 'stfu' in the same sentance.
>People who taunt you when they win.
>People who use griefers in PvP.

The biggest "jerk" I encounter in the game is sort of a "collective" - people who decide to abandon the team right in the middle of a mission when the going gets a little rough, calling everyone "n00b" etc etc - the usual stupid stuff. However as I am writing this I can think of once time in particular where I encountered something that just really made me upset - it was back when people were first farming and exploring Sorrow's Furnace, and one monk in our group kind of hung back claiming he had "lag" - the entire group suffered because he wasn't doing anything, and I gave him the benefit of the doubt because it happens sometimes (plus I am sometimes "too nice" ). It just so happened that his "lag" miraculously cleared up when all the baddies in the initial area were cleared and all the loot was laying around having not been picked up yet because we were all fighting - this monk was the ONLY member of the party still alive and I watched him as he suddenly sprung into action picking up the loot that had lain there long enough to be available to anyone - the rest of us were asking for rez so we could get what was rightfully ours and move on into the Furnace to continue but as soon as he was done with picking up everything he bailed. Just lovely.....
A skill cap run at Perdition Rock produced the other kind of "jerK" that leaves once they get the skill they wanted - leaving everyone else behind to decide whether or not it is worth it to move on or start over with a full group because no one else had gotten what THEY wanted - thus having wasted their time because of one person's selfish actions - what you do in game reflects what kind of person you are in real life.
Anyway - just my "two cents" - hope you all have good luck and don't get stuck with the kind of jerks I have read about in this thread!

When I'm being jerked off I have trouble keeping quiet.
I'm pretty sure you meant "jerked around", since english slang "jerked off" is a bit naughty.

Thats why I always go with a full henchie group at ELC whenever I want to cap skills at Perdition Rock. They may not be the best, but at least they don't leave before I get my caps

The biggest jerks I've come across have been in the last 2 days and are both very prominent guilds, 1 is a consistent top 10 on the ladder.
I'll talk about the top 10 guild here. Well we had them down at 6 minutes, with only a war, monk, ranger, and mesmer left - flawlessed. So what do they do, they start running. They all split and constantly run for the next 3 minutes. We ask them,
US: "come on, you've been beat, done be jerks and deny us the chance at the alter"
THEM: "screw you. If you can't catch us in 10 minutes you don't deserve to win"
US: "so how you gonna take being one of the most hated guild in guild wars now?"
THEM "haha, screw you. Do GvG, we'll smash you"
US: "unrated in 10 minutes, I'll send the invite"
THEM :"screw you jerks"
and so it went on and on.
We didn't get the last runner down until 9 minutes so no chance to take the alter at halls.
So we just slammed their name in ID1 for the next 30 minutes. I hate those guys.
And then the same thing the next day. At least the 2nd guild apologuised afterwards. They had a hench and were just fertile and symbiosis spamming to try and not get smashed quickly. But they ran and dragged it out for too long for us to challenge the alter.
Sportsmanship at it's lowest in tombs/heroe's.

Just curious, what's the whole idea behind all these "no posting names" rules?
I'd be absolutely glad to start a website "guildwarpolice.org" just to build a directory of jerk users. Seriously, I fail to see why we need their "permission" to post something. You say it in a public medium, it is ours. We don't need any permission whatsoever.

First off, although this forum is public, it is hosted on a private server, so there is no "free speech" rule that applies to us. Most forums are that way.
Second, generik is a jerk; he scammed me ingame and cussed at me. I even have screenshots to prove it.
It wouldn't be too difficult to make up a story and Photoshop screenshots. There's not much we here at GwG can do about scammers, jerks, and the like; that's what http://support.guildwars.com/ is for.
